Fife Pakistan Association

Charity No SC041651

Introduction

Residents of Fife, who originate from Pakistan, form a large ethnic community. The Pakistan ethnic community is spread not only in towns across Fife but also live in villages and hamlets. There is no group at present in Fife representing this community. The Fife Pakistan Association has been introduced to represent this ethnic group.

It will be a non-political voluntary and contributory organisation. The group will strive to gather the Pakistani community at a platform bringing them together from time to time, on religious, cultural, social, literary and sporting occasions. This is to promote the feeling of a community, to maintain traditions and to teach the new generations of the history, culture and religion of the community. To establish a standard and to advance good behaviour, thus increase cohesion and uniformity in the community.

In the present circumstance of growing tension polarization of various religious faiths, it is important to provide the understanding of various religions and to promote the level of tolerance among the people living in Fife, so that all communities should have respect for others and contribute to the social integration and understanding of the values of all communities. It is one of the primary aims of this association to offer a hand of friendship, goodwill and facilitate working relationship between all the residents.

The group will not limit itself by age, sex or race; all will be welcome including infants, children, boys, girls, adolescents, men, women and elders. There will be no bar of the place of residence as well. The national and historic occasions of Scotland and the occasions important to the Pakistani community will be promoted, highlighted and celebrated as far as funding will permit.

To highlight the difficulties, social, cultural, religious, educational and housing problems the community faces and draw the attention of local council, district and national government towards the problems faced by the community and help in sorting out these problems. May Allah help us in uplifting the community, Insha-allah.
